It also doesn't speak to her ability to be a midwife in Nepal. She has training and experience. I don't know whether she would be allowed to practice midwifery in Nepal or not.

Jill was apprenticed to a licensed lay midwife, until her mentor lost her license for making a mistake about group b strep. Then Jill lost her permit.

Actually Derrick worked both with infrastructure and helping local businesses. Jill has said she wanted to help as a midwife.

I've never seen the show (and never will), I know a little about the family only from appearances on the Today show, and I didn't read about this case until today. I read one freaking article, and now I can't stop thinking about it. It is just so disturbing - even more than I thought possible. The parts of the interview that made it into the Post article I read this morning are stomach turning. The Dad said it was a "child preying on a child" like that is some kind of excuse. Disgusting.
