If your protests blocks the traffic, permits generally required. The guy was not on a sidewalk, he was in the middle of the road. That is why I asked if he obtained a permit for protesting.

He was not protesting, he was just filming from a distance. He then walked closer and came to the aid of two women who were also filming, only filming, when one was pushed to the ground by one agent. He helped her up, and was immediately and severely attacked by this same agent, completely unprovoked and with his back turned! At that point he was blind and in pain! Same agent struck him repeatedly in the head. And shot him when another had already disarmed him. There is no way to spin this, none.

I am reminded again of the thousands of ERs around the country that deal with combative, aggressive, and unrestrained people actually trying to kill the staff, and some of whom have weapons (even guns, if they were not properly searched, which happens more than it should) -- and they somehow manage not to kill them, no matter what noises go off around them.

Several Republican Senators are calling for an investigation (joint federal and state) into Pretti’s death. Not as many as one would like to see given that a peaceful VA nurse has been killed, right after a peaceful mother of 3 was killed, but it’s a start.
