To play more. Wearing and being proud of a badge doesn't improve your ability. Especially when DCU doesn't teach sh#t. Most parents just want the badge because they think it is has a level of prestige. But they miss the point that DCU isn't developing the kids.

What is going on with DCU? Starting to be a common thing for local clubs beat an academy. Bravo to Armour.

lol yall…seriously? Ok. I haven’t stopped by for a few weeks and it’s still ppl talking stupidity. Every other club in the world can lose a game or have circumstances none of you know about and you wouldn’t say a peep but purely because someone hates dc we act like a stupid MLS flex game is the measure of the team. You realize that most of the teams had a double game weekend. They focused on the MLS league games which are a whole different pace and level . Armour is a flex game. I mean congrats to them but we didn’t go into those games worried about them to be honest. It was a great opportunity to get some kids minutes that don’t always get it but we won’t recognize that here. The U18s tied Armours U19 with multiple kids out injured or sick and a lot of players playing a second full 90 min game which is crazy and the 16s won with the same scenario. I see we forgot to mention the successes. Ok the 15s lost- congrats to Armour but you guys measure soccer all wrong lol. PS …DC had plenty of kids with national team presence since I also do that mentioned. Gabo from the 18s played for his nation, German from the 18s also national team player for his nation. Pritchett from the 18s was preliminary rostered for the U17s recently. The US camp call ups for other ages are starting to happen. The scout was with us Saturday 🤷🏻‍♀️Two of the 18s also went to preseason with the first team (for ppl who chronically complain about pathway to pro). Mason from the 16s went with his nation. There are plenty of kids getting called up. They may not all be on the final roster post but they are in the mix. Shut up already about stuff you don’t know. Maybe listen to the pitch pass podcast or go one somewhere that doesn’t have a disgruntled parent/parents pushing the narrative and get some factual info. New leadership. Positive changes occurring. But you’ll find a way to moan and groan because it’s not happening overnight or because Johnny still isn’t fitting the profile like you hoped. Sheesh.

someone loosing it here so you in flex

All true MLS academies play in their regular league and in the flex league. The flex games are for the MLS Next teams that are not a true MLS academy. They play 2 true MLS teams a season and the rest are against the other MLS Next non-academy teams. So, Armour, Achilles, and such. I'm not sure if that is what you are saying or asking? Wasn't totally clear but in case you were asking, that is the explanation of the leagues. It's just crazy that this place has 104 pages of DC hate and half-truths or just blatant misrepresentations. I really hope this isn't a go to source for parents considering the academy...they would be horribly misled by a lot.

Naaahhhh
Real serious soccer parents are focused on what their kid needs

Not what the feeling jilted are doing

Serious parents fully understand that DCU is not a great academy that advances the kids as players. But they accept this state of play because they usually don't have other options. Parents who are not serious are on here defending an academy that has no interest in developing their kids. At least if you accept this you just use DCU for what it is, a platform only, and find other ways to develop. You just need to do less of that in a better quality system. Just not a good situation at DCU. Period. No one cares that they lost to Armour. It's that they pull the best kids and can't coach them to bigger and better things. Which is the whole purpose of the academy. Losing to SYC and Armour in the same.month, are two prime example of a broader issue at DCU and that is how poorly the kids are coached and developed as players. The losses are just proof points of a much bigger problem. It would be the same if they won those games to be honest. There is no teaching going on. They could win all the games and the kids would be learning the same amount. Very little.

You must have this propaganda saved to cut and paste

Also, nothing says I know nothing about youth, much less academy development if I think 2 loses on the scoreboard tells what is happening with individual development.

Your ignorance and bias doesn't understand or know that the academies (all of them) aren't focused on winning these games or they wouldn't rotate through rosters and lineups as they do.

They would focus on best starting 11's and a few top subs in their best positions like regular clubs.

Stop being a moron and move on with your life.
DCU has forgotten about you or never knew you existed after the failed tryout

Memory is great. All anyone needs to remember is that DCU is a terrible academy like has been clearly established on this thread. Google it now. SEO is working...this thread is pretty high on Googles algorithm with respect to DCU. The information is there and anyone can find it. The charade has to stop at some point. I hope the new director can change things.

Why would they not? They are not getting minutes and risk of being cut. Why not go where they can get playing time before their playing years run out?
