We are ALREADY producing more than we did in any year from 1819-2019. Only briefly higher at the beginning of Trump's term but fell during the pandemic - on Trump's watch. Gas production INCREASED since Biden took office.
How can it be that we are producing more oil and gas now than ever before yet prices are our of whack?

That's bullshit. Refineries closed down because of the pandemic, not because of "policies." And the refiners have been slow as molasses to restore capacity now that it's needed.
Not a single refinery was built under Reagan, Bush1, Bush2, or Trump. The last refinery was built under Carter. Let that sink in.

If the price of gas is such a burden, why do people sit in their cars running it and the air conditioning for hours on end? Why do they continue driving everywhere and refuse to use public transportation? Seems like gas is not expensive enough yet.

Oil and gas companies want the GOP back in full power forever, that much is clear. They’re reaping record profits (as price gouging does) and want the reckless GOP in charge again. Obviously they’re price gouging and shutting down production to create scarcity. They know there’s an army of Republican idiots who will do their PR for them that it’s the DeMoCrAtS fAuLt.
Production is not the issue, even with lowered OPEC+ production prompted by Trump intervention when oil market ranked in 2020. It’s near record highs in the US. The issue is refinery capacity. The US simply can’t refine enough to keep up with consumer demand for gasoline and distillates.
