The preliminary plan shows a pool that is no bigger than a tennis court, probably because nothing bigger will fit. Apparently it would be the smallest public pool in DC. It seems like a waste of money and a lot of trouble to construct a glorified kiddie pool.

Then let them happily volunteer and embrace the paving over of the parks in their neighborhoods, for a facility that will get used at most 90 days per year.

Did anything else of note happen? I couldn't make it as we were both running late from work yesterday and I had no one to watch our kids when it was time to go.

I'm hoping they are going to give serious consideration to the option of the pool on Van Ness behind McDonalds.

There's a new survey out as well about the plans, can't put my finger on the link at the moment. It's only open until 11/30 and I haven't seen it posted on the listserve yet either, so again I don't think they are doing a great job of publicizing the survey.

The National Park Service site was already ruled out. Hearst is the last best hope for an outdoor pool in the area.
