There is nothing wrong playing on the second team in your school year. You will have a better chance to play in college at whatever Division than playing a SY down where you are showing you can’t play within your SY let alone against older men/woman at the next level.
I would love ECNL to have a biobanding program like MLS. My Q2 DD would like to join an ECNL team if biobanding is an option.

The only other option is intellectual dishonestly or intellectual disability. Or maybe a bit of both.
Remember there are like 3 posters that account for 80% of all posts according to IP data.
-August birthdays choose to play up or down. It is no more cheating than saying a Jan birthday in BY is cheating by playing with kids in the lower grade currently
-There are several states with start dates later than 9-1. In a 10-31 state should we force the Sept and October kids to play with their grade or give them the choice?
-Forcing anyone to play up is putting them at a month, two months, three month disadvantage. If they want to, more power to them but if they want to play with the same 12 month cohort that is fine as well.
-We eliminated trapped players due to it being unfair. Forcing a kid to play against kids potentially 13-15 months older is also unfair.
-If you want your august kid to get an advantage, move to an 8-1 state and have fun in high school.😂
All arguments after "Remember there are like 3 posters that account for 80% of all posts according to IP data." are invalid - you don't run this site - you don't know that and you're just pulling it out of your *** like the rest of your arguments

Now will MLSN/GA make the move is the question that keeps this thread alive
These guys are exactly the problem with Youth soccer in this country.
The oversized ECNL Hat is just **Chef's Kiss**
How do I get that hat? Lol
This is exactly what I’m looking for! A subtle was of telling people my kid is better than yours.

Indeed. Business wise it’s not a great move if they want to maintain their building dominance over ECNL. And they will lose some talent. Parents and even kids given the option to be starters or first teamers in a SY league will take it over the P2P MLSN badge. Ultimately, the MLSN academies will lose out too because assuming all those kids will funnel back to MLSN is not realistic. I think the other argument is the MLSN model is not a favorite of even most hardcore parents and kids. Too much travel for regular season games and they are all hip to the MLS badge as being a total sham. It definitely won’t be attractive to clubs either having to mange 2 systems. That said small chance it could still happen. I doubt we here though till the end of the year.
