It's really amazing that despite the attention on this issue, people still don't get it. Let me give a few examples:
- North Carolina, 2018. Democrats got 1,866,432 votes to Republicans 1,779,584, but Republicans got 65 seats and Democrats got 55.
- Wisconsin, 2018, Democrats got 1,306,878 to Republicans 1,103,505, but Republicans got 63 seats and Democrats got 36.
- PA, 2018, Democrats got 2,568,968 to Republicans 2,075,093, but Republicans got 110 seats and Democrats got 93.
- Michigan, 2018, Democrats got 2,128,281 to Republicans 1,935,174, but Republicans got 58 seats to Democrats 52.

2018 was a wave election where Democrats crushed Republicans in vote totals, but gained very little in terms of actual seats. Republicans have completely rigged the game in many states, so the argument that voters are going to get to decide abortion policy at the state level has no factual basis. Radical Republican legislators who have installed themselves despite the will of the voters will be deciding.

Is it possible that two individuals on opposite sides of the pro-life vs pro-choice fence can both be in 100% agreement that the government should have no role in policing medical treatments, but they can be in full disagreement as to whether abortion is a medical treatment or it is in fact a form of murder / infanticide?

Or to rephrase, is it possible for two folks on opposite sides of the pro-life vs pro-choice fence to share the same perspective on medical rights / right to privacy etc, but to simply have differing perspectives on whether abortion itself is actually a medical treatment or a whole other animal?

I'm pro-choice, but have pro-life family members including my mother. She is a black Baptist woman from the south who literally participated in the civil rights marches. That being said the woman truly believes that abortion is murdering an unborn child. To call my elderly black Baptist mother an anti-womens rights person or something of the sort is just flat out ridiculous if you knew the woman and looked at her life history, but a lot of the takes you read here that ignore the fact that ABORTION ITSELF and not the government's role in people's medical procedures is the actual source of differences for some people on opposite sides of the fence.

I don't see how my position is anti liberty - I am just telling you how it is. I agree that the government should have zero say in much of our lives and medical treatments is 100% included. The issue is that part of the country thinks it is a medical treatment (of which you and I are a part), and part of the country thinks its killing babies. It's not really possible to settle the debate and determine once and for all when life starts, and therefore it will always be a debate and it won't be settled as to whether it is medical treatment or killing babies. That's just the reality of the situation, putting emotion aside. Call me anti liberty or whatever all you want, I don't know what good that does, I'm pro-choice, but this is the reality. The fact that you can't 100% determine once and for all whether it is a medical treatment or killing a baby is why putting it in the Supreme court's hands is a bit dicey (as RBG and others have mentioned throughout history), hence why this decision happened. If Americans want it by popular vote, we need to go to state legislatures and congress - enough bringing up polls because as I mentioned voting is literally polls but it actually counts...

I will start this with I am fully pro-choice but I am also raising and loving a child who was conceived through rape.
If you are going to make any judgment on bad or good, you have to make it across the board for all pregnancy. A fetus (and eventual child) suddenly doesn't become "bad" because a sperm entered a vagina due to rape. It is the impact on the woman which makes it "bad" and the incredible difficulty in raising the child. This is the same as if the woman is poor or just darn chooses not to be pregnant. The logic that there is good and bad in this is flawed.

Yes, we are still better ffs. Because we're not actually trying to prevent the orderly transition of power, and we're not encouraging violent insurrection. We're pointing out that the majority of voters wanted something different - VERY different - from what we got.
