It’s literally always been this way. Slavery, Sharecroppers, Black People before the end of segregation with low job opportunities, Chinese building the railroads, freshly arrived Italians and Irish, and migrant Hispanic workers. We have never ever been without it. There is a reason everyone has turned a blind eye to undocumented immigration for decades, we don’t know how to function without someone in a desperate position (or forced) to take on the hard low paid jobs.
