Democrats fall in love. Well, I just fell in love, folks. I think there is a lot of excitement and it ain't for TFG whining on Truth Social for Biden to come back.

Glad you vote with your heart and not your head. Let us know how that works out for you.

I’ve said that many times here. Dems vote based on emotion. Republicans do not.

The GOP is all fear and anger - those are emotions. Your criticism is not remotely original, and it’s both outdated and incorrect.

Wow, so.much.projection. Democrats have been insisting that Trump will “end democracy!!” The threads on this forum are beyond fear-mongering and looney rage. They are truly unhinged.

NP. Yeah, that whole thing where Trump said if you voted him in, you wouldn’t need to vote ever again…that definitely nothing, right? Especially after January 6th? That’s definitely something you would ignore if Biden said it, right?

It might seem a little out of the norm or against the commonly held stereotype for a known former veteran and hunter to be pro-gun-control. But Walz explained in last year’s annual State of the State that it’s this exact experience that informs his desire to pass legislation that involves greater arms regulation.

“I know guns as well as anyone else in this room,” Walz said at the Minnesota Capitol building in 2023, adding that he is “one of the best shots in Congress” and has the trophy to prove it.

“I got an A rating from the NRA my first term in Congress. Now I get straight F’s. And I sleep just fine,” Walz said in his 2023 address, adding that everyone knows gun violence is an issue but are “just used to being bullied by the gun lobby.”

80% of Americans want gun reform. Parents do not like having their kids doing lockdown drills.

Citation?

“The McCourtney Institute for Democracy’s latest Mood of the Nation Poll, conducted from May 12-18, 2023, finds that 86 percent of American adults support U.S. Congress mandating background checks for all firearm sales and transfers.

Nearly three-quarters support Congress requiring gun owners to take a test, obtain a license and register their firearms, similar to the process of owning an automobile.”

They don’t have their methodology documented, we don’t know who they asked or how they asked. They should have that information included.

Are you OK? Yes, this poll has its methodology documented.

The riots and overall breakdown of law and order in our cities is where the Democrats are most vulnerable. Expect to hear about Kamala’s San Francisco and Tim’s Minneapolis nonstop for the next three months.

Did January 6th not happen? I don't understand how GOP are so concerned about some riots and not others. It's weird.

Bingo

All riots should be equally disdained regardless of the issue behind it because more often than not it's some nut job extremist thugs who don't actually care about the issue behind it....but as such should also be equally prosecuted and equally thought of as wrong regardless of the issue. It's never ok to destroy property regardless of the issue or topic period.

I agree. I read an article about The riots in MN and poor reaction time. Walz was very honest about it all and how it was not handled well. Now contrast that with Trump who still thinks January 6th was a good thing.

True - but I also know many Dems who think the BLM riots were a good thing too.

Dems supported the peaceful protests and criticized where the looting and property damage took place.

Well I'll rephrase,"I have personally spoken to more than one Dem who feels the looting and property damage was justified". But we are going off-topic now. Back to Tim Walz....honestly...I don't care how he reacted to the BLM riots because it was an extremely difficult time. I also don't care about anything he did or didn't do 20 yrs ago. I do care about his political views and social ideology which are too progressive for my taste. Not saying it's going to make me vote for Trump but I am now strongly considering staying home...and this is coming from someone who was pushing their DD to go out and vote because of the importance of voting - DD doesn't care to vote this year either. I can see her point of view.

You cite a ton of right wing talking points and misrepresentations (no one takes you seriously when your argument is a strawman), but I think you should have read the article you posted before spouting off about “teaching gender ideology” and from a “news” outlet in Austin, TX owned by Sinclair. But even they were able to sneak in the fact that it’s not teaching gender ideology but respecting all students, including the ones who were being bullied for being gay. So you want gay kids to get bullied? That’s essentially what you said.

And to try to pull some grapes out of your cornucopia of misled: that was an Osseo, MN policy, not a state wide one. Good lord. You are bad at this, “independent.”

The all-or-nothing attitude of the left is tiresome. Just as tiresome as the all-or-nothing attitude of the right when it comes to abortion. Same thing.

DP. Well said. This is how I feel, too. So sick of the extremes.

The forgotten middle.
The middle children of the country if you will.

Well said indeed.

Well, Harris acknowledges you with this pick.

No she didn't.
I'm still likely to vote for her given I can't tolerate Trump.
But I will also likely to vote more right leaning down ballot to keep things somewhat balanced.

The Democrats have bent over backwards to be right leaning (Biden, Clinton, Kaine, Lieberman, Gore, Obama, Kerry… these are not far left people); the same is never asked of the GOP. Not ever. Voters like you never ask that the GOP move left. You should ask yourself why you don’t think they should moderate.

I have in my lifetime voted for both Democrats and Republicans.
I vote for who at the time I feel is best for the country overall, best represents the views of the country and best reflects my personal views.

I think both parties are invested in playing to the extremes and not really listening to what people actually want.

Walz is basically Bill Clinton.

Good try. Walz is left of Bernie.

You need to get a better news source than Fox and OAN. Walz is one of the most moderate for the Democrats. Go back and look at the dot-spread post about his positions when he was in Congress. A pretty even mix of blue and red dots. He's very moderate and very pragmatic. He was one of the deal-makers who could communicate across the aisle.

The conservatives are calling his progressive and leftist because essentially the MAGA have pulled the political spectrum so far right that those who are true moderates now look progressive in contrast. He appears left if you pick and choose his positions. Yes, he has some political views that are progressive, but he also has some that are conservative, because he is midwestern and there are some midwestern values that are very conservative. If you selectively choose, you will find progressive ideas and values, but if you take him as a whole, he's very moderate in balance.

You must be a political novice. Walz is not a moderate. He represented a reddish district while in Congress and had to manage his voting somewhat to maintain his seat. But he has always supported left policies and this was revealed through and through in his record since representing the very blue electorate that is MN as a whole. And his comments are free for all to hear.

A red-ish district?! Omg. Walz was only the fourth Democrat in the history of that district to represent them. It’s a very red district. You need to do your research

Oh please. Walz is no moderate. Deal with it. Even the left admits this guy is on the far left… thus why they are embracing him.

OMG, now I’ve heard everything. Shapiro wasn’t chosen *because of the massive amount of antisemites ON THE LEFT* who would have caused absolute havoc rioting at the DNC (and elsewhere). Progressives have been harassing Jews and anyone pro-Israel for months now. Harris knew that choosing a pro-Israel Jew as her running mate would lose the “progressive” vote. In short, she totally appeased the antisemites in YOUR party.

But how typical that you would conjure up fantasies of Republicans engaging in an antisemitic barrage. We’ve all seen with our own eyes the pro-Hamas antisemites on the left. Keep up that gaslighting.

Shapiro wasn't chosen because he pulled himself out of consideration. Let's just stop with the nonsense.

He wasn’t chosen because Democrats, Socialists, Communists, or whatever they’re calling themselves today hate Jews.
