+1 - really need to do some serious soul-searching on getting back some of those Latino votes. Miami-Dade was a disaster.

What does “learn” mean? Fox will call them socialists no matter what.

No chance. Ironically Trump + R Senate will probably lead to more stimulus than any other plausible result at this point.

Um, we have Trump + R Senate now and no stimulus for the last six months.

They won't pass it in the lame duck if Biden wins.

Because Pelosi didn’t want to give Trump a win. They’ll be more likely to do it in the lame duck.

Wrong chamber. Pelosi passed a stimulus. McConnell has refused to bring it to the Senate.

And Trump didn’t want one either.

Maybe Biden will have better luck than he did as VP reaching out to his old Republican buddies in the Senate to get legislation passed. Checks and balances are a good thing.

No. There is no advantage in Republicans allowing legislation to pass. Blocking economic stimulus will help the Biden presidency to fail and pave the way for a Republican candidate in 2024.

Can Biden do recess appointments?

Runoffs are tricky. No top of the ticket to draw a crowd.

All of the Republicans on here saying clearly Biden will have to govern from the middle and work with Republican senators are either lying or are completely ignorant of actual history. We have literally been in this same situation before. In 2008 when Obama won in the middle of an economic downturn, McConnell refused to work on an economic stimulus policy because having the economy stumble along was advantageous to the Republican Party's prospects in the 2010 midterm. He refused to work with Obama on a REPUBLICAN healthcare plan (the ACA) because any legislation passed by the Obama administration was seen as detrimental to Republicans regaining power in Congress. He was correct in that assessment because that was the biggest midterm pickup.

Unless Biden nominates an ultra-conservative judge, McConnell will block the nomination because Republicans aren't interested in having moderate judges when they can easily block nominations and then pack the courts with FedSoc judges. There is literally no downside to McConnell and the Republican Party in blocking all attempts at governance.

Dear John James:

You are on the verge of losing your second election for Senate. Would you please go away? Tired of your endless branding and non-stop commercials. Maybe if you actually answered questions and dropped the smug demeanor, more people would have considered your candidacy.

Sincerely,

The citizens of Michigan

Why are there so many fewer votes left to count there than in the Presidential race?

Right now I see Peters in the lead (WSJ). And the only outstanding precincts are in Wayne and Genesee Counties.

Yup. Wayne and Genesee are Detroit and Flint.
