If no, there is zero reason to make any of us show an ID.
What has changed in the intervening years that necessitates voter ID?
Not one Republican has addressed these points.
Because they are utterly stupid and irrelevant “points” which have nothing to do with present day? Just a thought.
Show, dear, don’t tell. Why has this country allowed voting without an ID for centuries if it’s so important?

Don’t subject me to it. I do not want to end up like in China where my ability to get a job or travel can be “turned off” as way to control me. The ID card will be abused and probably by the same white crew who made illegal to give a voter some water.
This is the irony of people like the OP and all the right leaning libertarians. They want everyone to have a voter ID card, and some are suggesting federalizing one, yet, it is such a massive overreach.

You are really dense. States make the ID rules. So racist states like Georgia will just pass a law that the Fed ID is no good for voting
a state will outlaw the US passport as a valid ID?
sorry, hard to believe. that would be thrown out by the supreme court. yes, even the current supreme court
Damn you are dumb. The GOP doesn't want everyone to vote, so they will never support this,
DP. You are absolutely ridiculous and have been spewing lie after lie. Of course the GOP wants all US citizens to vote. You, otoh, prefer to throw out excuse after excuse as to why a certain segment of the population simply can’t attain a basic ID. Could you possibly be more patronizing?

There is absolutely no proof, not one scintilla, that any undocumented people voted in any elections. The absurdity to think that people who are actively trying to stay under the radar and in the crevices of our society would openly show up to vote in an election is absurd on the face of it.
x10000000
These people frequently live in illegally subdivided houses just to fly under the radar and follow the law meticulously for the same reason and you guys actually honestly believe they just show up to vote? The absolutely inane absurdities you guys fall for...

And if someone doesn’t have a birth certificate then it seems like they wouldn’t be able to get a bank account either. We should fix those issues, not have insecure elections because of it.

I voted for decades without showing an ID, it was no problem.
What changed?
Illegal immigration en masse became a thing.

because, apparently, 25 million people don't have a valid ID
If you’re a us citizen, and you don’t have a valid ID...
That’s a choice.
Made by you.
Maybe not a good one, but a choice nonetheless.
There’s no reason, at all, why a US citizen wouldn’t have a valid ID.
Stop making excuses. Get your ID.
