It's different because the Church has repented for the sin of child molestation. They know it's wrong and have paid out large sums of money in legal settlements.
Same-sex couples wanting to marry in the Church are not repentant. They celebrate their homosexuality and expect other Catholics to do the same.
have they fully repented if they use bankrupt and statutes of limitations to shield assets?
Did Fox News repent when they settled their lawsuits?

I can't say I am surprised, but it is another failure of the church to acknowledge science, namely that homosexuality is part of the natural order, and therefore it is part of God's plan.
The Church eventually accepted that the earth moved around the sun, so it's likely that it will eventually accept homosexuality.
Just don't expect it any time soon, even though many Catholic priests are themselves homosexual.
+ 1
I am pretty amazed that their pedophilia and sex abuse is mostly of young boys. And no one calls them out for that.
To be fair no one calls them out for the pedophilia either.

The church is led by pedophiles and child abusers. It’s a shame the IRS won’t rescind their tax-free status. By the pope’s logic, our government shouldn’t be blessing sin either.
Ironically, the problem is the result of the Church's problems with sex. Imagine a world in which priests could marry. Imagine a world where women could be priests. Or a world where you could have a gay, married priest. The ranks would be filled with people who have a normal relationship with sex, and the pedophile problem would plummet. Instead we are setting up the requirements to drive these candidates away, leaving us attractive mostly to candidates with an abnormal relationship with sex.
No. Pedophilia does not happen because of forced celibacy. Adult relationships may happen because of forced celibacy. Sexual abuse of boys and girls is not due to celibacy. Normal adults don't have sexual urges towards children and animals. Their attraction is towards other adults.

I get what your saying.
They should have a celebration of pedophila, greed and sodomy as one of their sacraments.
And make gay marriage a sacrament too!
