I live nearby and these crazies do not represent me. Might need to start organizing an army of reasonables who would be quite ok with new schools for our kids near where we live.
I totally agree. I live in the neighborhood and own a house on the other side of the park. The FCCA and other intimidating voices who like to claim they are the voice of the neighborhood and we should do as they say have really ruined our experience here and made us feel so awful about this area, and frankly we've also experience racist comments on top of all the other crazy stuff, we have decided to simply not speak or even acknowledge people in this awful neighborhood - at least until this hardy school garbage passes. And mind you, as a family with children, we would love new schools both elementary and Hugh school in this area. I am so sick if the FCCA and the entrenched know it all's who feel they have been here forever and so they run the place it makes me sick.

Anonymous wrote:Why did the Bowser Administration rush through a lease extension for the Lab School on "old Hardy" but then propose to build a new public school on park land next door? Can someone explain how this makes sense?

It's really atrocious and unwelcoming. We went this weekend to check out the new rec center with our kid and those signs are everywhere. It feels like you're being monitored by the neighbors.
I may just go back and remove the signs on public property. I especially hate the signs they put on the median island along MacArthur Blvd. It feels so icky, discriminatory, and unwelcoming.
Please do remove as many as you can. Lord knows DPW, DGS, DPR or whoever the hell is actually responsible for removing illegal posters from public property is not actually going to get around to doing it. Either that or start trolling them with your own homemade signs that express the true sentiments of the “Save Hardy Park” brigade.
