The good DA clubs were ECNL clubs first. Them returning is fine. Arlington can always turn down the crappier ECNL platform.
Crappier ECNL platform? Afraid that we’re going to take over the DMV lol
Looking forward to “No, clubs rise and fall all the time just like businesses.” Looking forward to seeing Blockbuster and Barnes and Noble comeback against Netflix and Amazon. If you’re not 100% into building yourself, you won’t succeed. Nobody is doing better at this (in NOVA) than Arlington and McLean (albeit via different methods).
What's to take over? Arlington kids will stay put. It just got easier than ever to join a ECNL club and it was pretty easy already.
What makes you bitter? Just don’t participate
Not bitter, what I'm saying is your kid didn't get any better as player because of this. Her pond just got bigger and more diluted. And joining ECNL didn't and won't significantly change Arlington's current or future teams. It adds stability but their coaches are the same, their players are the same. Maybe each age group picks up a player or two but this doesn't create some seismic shift in players.
And if ECNL goes this far in NOVA then it might as well do something useful and add FCV and Beach FC and some other club to reduce travel to Virginia.
Beach FC is not ECNL level. Unfortunately, neither is ECNL. Thank USSF and GDA for causing this.
Have you seen Arlington 07 girls play (08 are good, 06 ok, older age groups are average)? They are middle of the pack in GAL, with few strong players. The FCV 07 girls beat them every time they play them by a lot. FCV is stronger in 07 and up age groups. I think it's funny to say FCV (or Beach FC for that) are not ECNL level. They could both easily compete and be among the top teams in ECNL in Virginia -- better than Arlington, VDA, BRYC, and McLean.

Anonymous wrote:The rumor is some GA and ECNL clubs are leaving to form a new “select” league. I guess people are upset about not playing games. The new league will address too much travel and not enough games against like competition.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:That is a very false rumor
Nope. Heard it from the same place I heard DA was done. The top ECNL clubs do not want to waste time playing “less competitive” clubs.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:What was discussed at this GA parent meeting then?
They probably are sworn to secrecy until Richmond makes the announcement on the ECNL website.
Spring season workload management and injury prevention. Things that are more important in the real world than wild rumors.

They want their teams to stay together. They don’t want to drive elsewhere. This is why they desperately HOPE. This is the mentality of younger parents.
GA will not hold their teams together and they know this. This is the panic.
If the club is aware of this then they would just come out with the announcement.
Because there is nothing to announce. Hence, a parents meeting with no new information
I am agreeing with you.
I am agreeing with you. Nice to meet ya, friend. Lol
