They do if you continue on the team. If you leave for any reason you have to try out and may not make it back on.
I know the process, but in this special circumstance I don’t think it should necessarily be business as usual. There is a group of people who made a decision based on the pandemic and I think the right thing to do is to give them priority to fill open spots if they want to return.
I think this will happen anyway just by default. The swimmers who took this season off are probably decent swimmers and cooperative, know the routine, etc. I can't imagine a scenario under which most of the returning swimmers are not former RMSC swimmers.

Are all of the groups full?
Anonymous wrote:Why would they be? They didn't take anyone new.
I mean they are full like they are not accepting any additional swimmers due to covid restrictions as far as I know.
They have all those spaces from swimmers who are taking the season off. I think it's mostly a formality. They will have new tryouts and those swimmers will be let back on. The one question is whether restrictions will continue into the new season so they will have reduced capacity compared to before. That would be messy.
Anonymous wrote:I do agree with this but RMSC said very clearly that they would not do this and that you had to continue this fall/spring to hold your spot.
That impacted a lot of families that felt like they HAD to sign up and pay. So some families signed up and paid even if it was a hardship so that they could hold the spot.
It would be unfair and basically a lie to backtrack.

This. If you haven't been following the science enough to know this you might want to reconsider your child's participation. Everyone who was in the facility at the time the positive person was there and perhaps the swim group that came after should be notified.
If there was more than one group both should be notified. Any other staff in the building should also be aware. It doesn't mean they shiould quarantine necesarily but it means they should be monitoring themselves closely.
Science says everyone should be notified. Its called contract tracing. Its not just RMSC swimming but other folks as well. If we could opt out and keep our spot, we would do it but we were told we'd lose the spot if we don't go. If kids were in close contact, they absolutely should be quarantined especially given the lack of air circulation and other issues.
You would have been notified if your child was in contact. Since you weren’t, you can assume your child was not in the building at the same time.
You can assume you didn’t meet the criteria for risk of transmission. Not the same as being in the building at the same time.
