In my 20s, I would have people constantly stop me on the street to comment on my looks. I was slightly shy and reserved and never quite understood why people were swayed so much by looks. I think part of it is that I had this ethnically ambiguous look that seemed to fascinate people. I will absolutely say though that being attractive helps in many scenarios such as interviewing but then ultimately you can only depend on your looks for so long.

One is a gorgeous Pakistani woman whose looks compete with the fabled Aishwarya Rai. She is the sweetest, kindest, most good hearted woman I know. When you meet her. you are spell bound by the combination of her warmth and beauty. She lives a wonderful life with a rich husband that worships her and a great group of friends. She is also smart and went to Oxford and currently works in nutrition. I have never been jealous of her and instead warmly happy for her.

My best friend is gorgeous and, as a substantial result of her looks, quite rich (she does work hard, but a better looking/smarter woman has little chance against her).

Regardless, her life is absolute shit right now and she did nothing to deserve it. I am heartbroken for her.

Agreed. Guys always end up marrying the plainer 5s who looks like a typical wife and mother. That way, they never have to be intimidated and they can always be the big man in charge.
