I guess we'll find out about the true roster sizes this weekend as both DMV and Capital are playing against each other at the 25, 26 and 27 levels at the DE tourney.

Why would HOCO Howard County care about Madlax b team? Besides playing older kids is not even against the rules in HOCO as age is not a rule. This post makes no sense.

Non sequitur. Madlax was scheduled to play last spring and most Elite division teams aren't playing fall hoco either.

Yes, the HoCo ban on MadLax this fall is unfortunate. Kids are being punished for bad behavior by grownups. Sad!

I'll agree with the idea MadLax is highly competitive and their capital teams compete with the best nationally.

I wholeheartedly disagree with the idea players only get pulled down once in awhile. They have been caught wholesale bringing down older players and not just capital to dmv. In the last 2 years, they've been caught entering almost entire teams in HoCo and in Hershey who were in the class above. Meaning they were in 7th grade competing in 6th grade or some like example.

This also means the DMV team has an official roster of 18 players with at least 6 additional players coming down to take time. This means at least 4 players on DMV will barely see the field. Oh, and don't forget when the DMV team makes a final or has a good chance to win a tournament because that means a few more Capital players will be asked to play in those games. This is status quo for MadLax.

The DMV roster is substantially less than 18, so even when the bubble players are added, the overall roster should be reasonable. Capital players will not get pulled down, unless DMV is hurting for numbers, which happened for one tournament this summer. But the prior poster is correct that status quo for MadLax is to carry as many players as possible, and make as many as possible feel like they are on or close to the Capital team. It is a mutually successful business model - the owner does extremely well, and many sophisticated, successful families are lining up and competing each season to be customers. The Capital teams are highly ranked nationally in almost every age division. If your son is one of the top 15-16 players in his grade, the program is likely to be a good experience. If not, buyer beware.

If my son (who is currently 11) someday achieves good enough HS grades to be accepted at LaFayette and has the lacrosse skill to make a Division 1 roster, I will be incredibly proud. And it would be close enough that my wife and I could day trip to watch his games. I am not following why that would be an awkward dinner conversation in the slightest.
