My two favorite names growing up were Natalie and Lauren. Turns out those were the two serious relationships my DH had before we met so there to those names.

Maya. Because I adored a little girl with it but the name is just "Meh" with more time and distance.

Jocelyn. I was going to use the name for my first born. I can’t stand the name now. My sister used it for my niece which is not really the problem. It’s whenever I hear my brother-in-law say her name and his sickening sing-songy way with his grating high pitch voice high-pitched voice I want to scream. That makes me hate the name.

I was always looking for a girl’s name with the nickname Raina/Rena and didn’t like Lorena because of Lorena Bobbitt. Anyway, if I’d had a daughter she would have most likely been named Mirena... like the IUD. Bullet dodged.

Sophia.

Actually still love it, but it is way too common.

Aw thank you guys! It genuinely makes me feel better. I guess I don’t hate the name, just would have for sure gone for something different now.

Loved Jackson about 10 years ago. I would never now.

There was a girl named Spring at my high school. I loved it. Also like Summer and Autumn.

I thought Ali and Lexi were the cutest nicknames in high school. I wanted an Alexis/Alexa for the longest time to beget one of those nicknames.

I have two friends named Thea and adore them but neither of them is "cool". They are both dorks (as am I) and the one I knew as a kid was super awkward (as was I, this is a no judgment zone). And yet, their name suits both of them perfectly. So you don't have to be cool to be a Thea.

But I get this. I've always loved the name Nora (super popular now, I know) but was worried that if I gave it to my daughter, she'd resent it during her super awkward teen years and then it wouldn't suit her when she grew up to be a dork like her father and I

I gave her a beautiful name that suits her perfectly. She is, predictably, a dork.
