Hi, I had a chemical pregnancy a year ago. I tried clomid twice and was unable to get pregnant. btw, i am 32. I didnt want to waste time so I did a round of ivf in august of this year. btw, they retreived 13 eggs, 6 fertilized and 2 made it to day 6. After pgs testing, 1 came back normal. I had previously had a sonogram with another ivf dr but my current dr pushed to do his own before we did a transfer. thank goodness bc he found a polyp. He said they can act like an iud, which makes sense as to why i couldnt get pregnant and had the chemical pregnancy. in addition, when I did clomid and a couple of times of trying naturally, i felt pregnancy symptoms up to the day my period was due. I personally think that i was trying to to get pregnant but the polyp kept preventing it from growing. I had my hysteroscopy sept 29, 2017 and i started ivf with my next cycle right after. I am doing another round of ivf to get more embryos. This protocol is different from last time of just doing gonal f and menopur and cetrotide. this time i started 10 days before with lupron and they have incresed my gonal f and menopur and added Hgh. Looking for some advice.

Today i had a Polypscopy (hysteroscopy) to remove a polyp in my uterus. I was given Diazepam (valium) and Tramadol (an alternative pain relieving medication to a codeine derivative for allergy reasons) in conjunction with doctor administered shot (something like a valium) and litacain into my cervix.

My first concern, I read online that women who have undergone this type of procedure have a 62% chance of getting pregnant afterwards. I am 24 right now and have been with my lover for 9 years. I want to get married next year and then immediately begin having kids. But now i am getting concerned, would it be wise to see a fertility doctor, and is an OBGYN a fertility doctor? I want to have a large family maybe 4 children or more.... i just hope that this is possible for me. I would hate to let my man down for failure to do so, and this would absolutely crush me as well.

Continuing on, i had a discussion with my OBGYN before this procedure. She gave me the option of having it in her office or a hospital. I assumed that with the valium and tramadol as well as the local medication that she administered to my cervix that i would be fine doing it in office. However, after today, this is something that i will never do in office again, if i have to undergo the procedure in the future. The valium, tramadol, and shot had absolutely no effect on my body whatsoever, i could have driven home perfectly fine by myself if i had to - but my mother was with me. This made me extra anxious. This was a concern of mine beforehand, because for some reason it takes extremely large doses of medications to affect my body/ brain/ and pain - i always have to overdose because of this, which is always a scary thing to do. Once doing the procedure they had to stop in the middle just to administer more litacain because of the pain i was experiencing. IDK why my body has the issue. I am a pretty small person, only 5 foot and 120 pounds. What could be going on here? Why doesn't my body react the same as others to drugs that should make you feel like drunk.

Hoping for some help. If someone knows a type of doctor i can see who can answer this question about the medications on my body specifically i would EXTREMELY interested in finding this out.

Also, if anyone has had a polypscopy at a young age, have you fallen pregnant, was is difficult, where there miscarriages?

Have your raised your concerns with the doctor who diagnosed the polyp? He/she will be in the best position to tell you what prognosis you have based on your age and test results.

For some people polyp removal indeed resolves infertility, but for others who may have additional underlying causes of IF, removing the polyp does not automatically lead to conception. I had 2 polyps removed a year ago, but had 2 unsuccessful IVFs since. Some people on this thread had much better luck.

Adding to the long list of PPs that had polypectomies/endometrium removal and went on to successful IVF. I saw Paul McKoul at Innovative Gyn. He was really straight with us- surgical revision isn't permanent. Polyps, fibroids, or endometrial clumps can grow back. Do not pass go, do not collect $200, and go directly to IVF stat. I'm so, so grateful for this advice. He and his wife went through IF too and conceived through IVF. He gets it and tells it to you straight.

After 10 years of no birth control, no children, and a few gynecologists I have finally found a doctor (fertility specialist) that says she knows why after 30 minutes of talking to me and an intravaginal ultrasound. I have a uterine polyp on the entrance to my uterus and she explained it so well. She says the sperm would swim to it and go crazy trying to get into it as if it were and egg then wear themselves out and die there instead of swimming up. I go in for surgery in 12 days and she said after removing all polyps and a d&c I can try to conceive one month later

Hello ladies happy thanksgiving.. Monday I had two polyps removed and a d&c . I was having excessive amount of bleeding between my periods. Ive been trying to get pregnant for a while now and I hope that this procedure helps me .

I got pregnant 2 months after an unsuccessful attempt to remove uterine polyp. The polyp went away after the pregnancy.

Hi I had a polyp removed in March and now I'm 3 months pregnant. Anything is possible with prayer. I couldn't get pregnant prior to that. I believe having the surgery helped
