DP. My daughter and I loved it. We love all those PBS British types of shows. One of the main characters is played by the woman who played Lydia in the 1995 Pride & Prejudice and I love her character in this show.

If you either have kids or aren’t embarrassed to watch a cartoon, both Helga and Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (both on Netflix) are both delightful. Both feature a main character who chooses to approach others with friendship even when the rest of the world pressures her to do otherwise. There are struggles, but of course kindness always succeeds in the end. It’s so emotionally satisfying! (They’re also fun shows, with enough action and humor to keep even grownups watching.)

Star Trek Next Generation is the series in this franchise that I would recommend. Not only are the production values better, but where Kirk would tend to have a fistfight with his opponents, Picard tends to outthink his.
