It’s not unreasonable to turn the guy down - I assume it is not just picking up his kid but watching the kid for the entire afternoon when you might have other plans.
However, if the real or only reason you are turning him down is that he made some stupid cracks about a Facebook post- then yes, you are being petty

The truth that OP finally confirmed that SAHMs with kids in preschool or school have lots of free time no matter how much they protest that their remaining home is essential to the delicate balance of the universe?? You know, for those two professional days when school is closed and two days a year when their kids are sick and *need* them at home?
Look, all the people out there at home taking care of their infants and toddlers are doing a great thing. But you chose to have a kid. You got to choose to stay home with them. Stop looking for validation here.

The single dad? Yes, he probably has to work. Most single parents do.
As a SAHM/WAHM, I didn't have to drop my baby off at daycare. I feel lucky for that, I'm not complaining. If it was too hard for me, I would have gone back to an office job. Same goes for you.
