Actually one of Queen Noor’s daughters recently married the grandson of Roald Dahl, and another princess also married a Western man. The foreign spouses convert to Islam but that’s about it. Haya could have done the same if she chose.

Abdullah is not the type to mind who his half sisters marry. While he was no doubt pleased about the promise of increased Emirati investment in his poor country, Haya jumped on the proposal with great gusto. The Sheikh wanted an educated wife to accompany him in the West and mingle with the right people at Ascot and the likes. Haya wanted...well we all know what she wanted, let's not forget that while she got $700 M in the settlement, she asked for $1.8 billion, which the judge smacked down.

Don't be silly. Haya was one of the multiple offspring of an obscure, poor Middle Eastern country. Her half-brother, himself half British, educated in Britain and conceived out of wedlock, doesn't care who she married - he has his hands full stuffing his coffers and protecting the futures of his own children to care about his half-sister. If Haya wanted to marry an affluent Jordanian (or non-Jordanian!) based in London or any European country or indeed anywhere else, he'd probably sigh, alhamdulillah, one more off the payroll. He's not the type to mind who she marries, and he certainly is not in any position to mount a global manhunt should she marry someone REALLY objectionable.
