I am still trying to understand why a "progressive" democrat supposedly espousing left-wing views would be supported by RSS. Even an RSS diehard will be hard-pressed to argue that it is a progressive organization. Five minutes of google search on the writings of Hedgewar, Savarkar and others will demonstrate that. And the latest (2018) report by the US Commission for International Religious Freedom, undoubtedly staffed by diehard "Hindu-haters" as well (sarcasm alert), seems to suggest that the modern RSS has not strayed far from the ideology of their founders.
