I stand corrected with regards to Judaism and Jesus. My apologies.

That said, my statement still remains for Christians and Muslims. Their religions, with their legions of followers and mandatory 'donations', need Jesus to have been a real person. If they didn't have him they wouldn't have rock to stand on and they certainly couldn't justify their need to convert others which would hinder their numbers, their agenda, their votes and their pocketbook.

The historicity of Jesus has NO bearing on any aspect of the Jewish faith. If we found out tomorrow that Jesus was a man who walked the gallilee giving parables, and was then crucified by Pilate - or if we learned that the gospel authors and Paul were reporting a legend - it would not effect the truth or falsity of any trend of Judaism.

Also please tell me which synogogue controls millions of people. Mine sometimes has trouble getting a prayer quorom on weekday mornings.

The gospels claim (in a story that really DOES look like a legend) that he was well versed in Torah.

No Jewish source backs this.

There are Jewish rabbinic texts that say he was a magician - they appear to accept the Christian miracle stories, but give a non divine explanation.

They were written well after the life Jesus. These idle stories are not "official" doctrine of any kind. Orthodox Jews have a range of opinions on Jesus. Modern non-Orthodox Jews (Rosenzweig excepted) basically accept the same secular scholarship about the historical Jesus that atheists do.

Christians BELIEVE that Jesus was a real person but the belief and faith is a very different thing then actual historical facts and proofs.

Faith is not a proof but to a real believers those things make a very little difference. It is probably the same as with God in any religion. No religion has a proof that God exist per se, however they strongly believe that he does exist and nobody really needs much proof, aside from those who don't' believe in God.

Scholars at the time dismissed the idea that Jesus was not an actual person mainly because they believed it was held by people that were beyond reason. It’s still true!

Scholars do not dismiss ideas -- they study them - and they have studied Jesus a lot. Although some scholars think there is enough evidence to point to a 1st century Jewish teacher, no scholar would ever state that Jesus actually is the son of god or that there is proof of the miracles that Jesus supposedly performed - because that is beyond the scope of scholars.

They deal strictly with facts and evidence - not miracles or anything outside of the natural world.

They dismiss people that support Jesus myths like yourself.
