If that is your goal, you would be better off starting on another team and playing AGAINST those players if you want to impress the top D1 coaches.
Not good enought to start so go to lower team and start. That's how done?
Not necessarily. Perhaps these 20-40 minute a game kids just need a fresh set of eyes and a change of scenery to thrive. But instead of looking for some lateral opportunities where starting could be a real possibility they keep their kids where they are, on the bench out of fear and insecurity. Do you really think just wearing the FCV uniform is going to get you a college offer if your kid is not actually playing a whole lot? Will the offers for the same kid be significantly better because they are sitting in a FCV kit versus starting and playing wearing other colors?
There is no bench player at FCV who will be fielding better offers than a starting player at another DA/ECNL club. But don't listen here, why not ask your kid if she would rather play soccer or watch soccer. She couldn't start at FCV for four years but you think she'll roll into a starting role on a college roster because of the logo on her youth club jersey?

You literally just said that a DA sub will play D1 over a ECNL sub for the simple fact that they play DA. .l
Horrible recruting pitch. Go sit down somewhere before I bury you with examples.
Number 1 thing college coaches look for is a DA patch.
Number one thing college coaches look for are kids who good enough to be a starter on a youth soccer team.
They look for good players that fit their program.
Well, if you can’t start on a youth soccer team they are looking for players who are actually playing that fit their program.

Examples of non starters from local area DAs playing D1, to clarify.
U15 and younger are not committing at this point and now will not until junior year of high school (more than a year from today). The information we do have is what was linked. You can dismiss it, ignore it, spin it, whatever you want to it. It doesn't change the fact that it is true. What is not a FACT is that non-starters on top level GDA teams are not committing to D1 schools. Our area has done a very poor job concentrating talent. We have 10 local teams in the DA/ECNL. That is too many and yet we have people on here telling us how Loudoun ECNL will now become a game changer. The only thing Loudoun adding ECNL is going to do is water down the ECNL some more purely because of the number of teams. More consolidation is needed and it may have to happen involuntarily. The best thing that could happen is that the 4 local GDA become 3 and the 6 local ECNL reduce to 3 as well (by combining with each other or with a GDA club). 6 "elite" options are plenty for our area and would truly be competitive with other parts of the country in both college commits and game play.
Fat chance any of this happens there is too much money to be made the way it is now with parents willing to pay obscene amounts of money for, in most cases, non-equivalent value.
This is an interesting idea. What mergers need to happen here?
