On the whole there seems to be 2 areas of conversation here. The religious slant and the general managment of the operation. Personally, people can pratice as they see fit. That is beyond acceptable. Unkind comments toward patrons-- not acceptable in the least.

What is the big deal? So, on their website they share what they believe. More power to them. At least you know where they stand and they are not trying to pretend to be something they are not and then subtly inundate people with their "real" message. I am a Christian and am not ashamed of my belief in Jesus Christ. He has changed my life and my relationship with Him has been the most important part of my life for over 30 years. It's not about religion, it is about relationship. Anyone who truly has found the peace and joy that a friendship with God through Jesus provides could not possible NOT mention it-that relationship is part of who you are at the core of your being. Doesn't sound like they are trying to force their beliefs on anyone else. So, again, what is the big deal???

We just booked 300 kids here because of the value statement. I wish our Teachers would develop the same misson statement.

since when does a person have to abandon their religious views when they open a business. why is it not ok to say you are a christian but we are supposed to be tolerant of all religions? does that only apply to whats trendy with some people?

"$5 dollars people. Where can you play anywhere for $5 bucks in a safe downtown DC neighborhood? How is the owner suppose to create more space, have brand new toys, maintain everything to a spotless condition, have perfectly trained employees on staff, and still maintain a low entrance fee? I would love all these things too, but I am sure to get a space any larger/or convienant in Bethesda, the rent would be outrageous. I personally wouldn't want to pay $40/kid everytime I want to play. The owner did want to make a playplace that was available to everyone.

A person above took the words out of my mouth. Next time you go to a resteraunt and your plate is dirty, and the floor isn't swept, and your waiter brings you the wrong dish with a hair in it and is blase. Just say, oh well, the entree was only $5.00. For my family, $5.00 is a lot of money. Whether you pay $5.00 or $50.00 customers deserve and expect a good product. And yes, you get what you pay for. $5.00 at McDonald's gets you a handful of 1.00 value items and a free play zone. Same great taste and good service everytime. Here $5.00 gets you a good experience one day and a nasty one the next. Seriously, who needs that!

WTH? This is a business not a charity fund. Consumers get to decide whether they want to use the goods or services based on the value to them. If I go to the restaurant and the food tastes bad, the place isn't spotless, the service is off or whatever I don't say well they want to be accessible to everyone so I'll come back again even though I didn't enjoy it.

I was at the Playseum and went to breastfeed my infant. A father (presumabley) of a little child there came up to me and said this was not an appropriate venue for this type of activity. (mind you, I was fully covered with a blanket). After this embarassing ordeal I tried to find a staff person to speak with (just to share this and bounce a few ideas) and found that it was hard to find someone. I know there is high foot traffic, but it would be beneficial to have more staff circulating.

Yes, children tend to dart around in big museums. I agree. It was just really hard for us to maneuver 3 kids through these narrow spaces when it was filled with lots of kids. We could not roll a stroller, a car carrier was bumping into people. We felt badly because we as parents had little way to enyoy the experience because we were being jostled too and fro and trying to no be in peolpe's way. That is not the best way to share the experience. I can see where if it was a low peek time it would be much easier. But it is hard to plan around a "maybe it will be that way this time." Also, imagine a person is visiting from out of town-- with several kids- there is no way to garner from the website any of these limitations. We really like the place. We just cannot go back because it is not parent user friendly enough on a constant basis to make the experience mostly enjoyable for all of us.

I like the smallish space. Kids can focus, and I have a much easier time visually keeping track of where they are. We go first thing in the morning when it opens.

Big 'children's museums' like the one in Philly drive me crazy. Child zips from one space to the next in such a big building, I'm in constant fear of losing her.

God is not the issue here-- the place is down right claustrophobic when filled to the brim with kids. Kids love it. Why shouldn't they. It's a fun place. It's hard for the parents to get around. That makes it hard to enjoy.

No one is trying to convert anyone to anything at the Playseum. Its a fun environment for kids. period.

Call me crazy but 12:43 sounds like they have a little more vested interest in Playseum then simply sharing an opinion.
