You are insecure.
And vacuous. You’d be better off in Potomac. Quiet, spacious, convenient, much better schools than CC,AND prestigious
No, I grew up in CC too and while I find the "I'd only live in X neighborhoods" person repulsive, he's my people and as a tribe we could never live in Potomac. I mean I could, but I'm practically expatriated. Also I wouldn't live in Potomac actually, ew.
Why is it repulsive to want to only live in neighborhoods that you think are desirable? When house hunting most people decide where they would like to live and look for a house or apartment in those areas.

A lot of people know what areas of their hometown are considered prestigious/cool/affluent/desirable etc. If you’re UMC and grew up in Chevy Chase you wouldn’t want to move to Gaithersburg or some other far away suburb.
"Upper Middle Class" is just a term your parents taught you so you wouldn't be paralyzed by guilt. Don't worry, it happens to every child of Chevy Chase. "Mommy, are we rich?"
"No, we're Upper Middle Class. We work very hard in school and at our jobs and we're very lucky, aren't we?"
Actually, kids in neighborhoods like CC don't ask if they're rich. They assume they're middle class because they're about average compared to most people they interact with, but there are always others that are a lot richer. I didn't grow up in CC, but this is how I felt growing up and attending an exclusive private school. Our family was average compared to our peers. There were uber wealthy families and we were obviously aware of the poor. However, our upbringing seemed perfectly average compared to everyone we interacted with, thus middle class.
I remember when my sister called me her freshman year at college and asked me if I knew there were people that actually took out loans for college. It was pretty eye opening that maybe we weren't middle class after all.

Meh. You could buy into a far cheaper area and still send your kids to Rosemary Hills.
I don’t care about Rosemary Hills. I’d prefer to send them to private. It’s a prestigious area. I grew up in the area and there are certain neighborhoods I’d be embarrassed to say I live in (like a far cheaper area).
New honesty award!
And now you have to tell us which ones
I specifically didn’t name neighborhoods because I didn’t want to insult anyone. Basically, I wouldn’t live anywhere except Chevy Chase, Bethesda, McLean, maybe Arlington and upper NW DC.
don't forget certain parts of the hill
