The PP is misinformed. He does not have "firsthand" knowledge b/c we weren't there. His source is his son, who also wasn't there, but is friends with 1 of the boys kicked off. The boys involved admitted what they did. Ganging up on kids, pinning them down, pulling pants down. Whether there was foreign object penetration, attempted, or not, I don't know because I didn't ask. What I heard was bad enough.
Saying they were not told why they were being released is BS. They know exactly why.
One of the victims was suspended months later for behavior that had nothing to do with this. Walking into the bathroom while another teammate is taking a shower is nothing. Athletes see each other naked all the time. So what? Physical contact is something else.
Under DC law, athletic coaches are considered mandated reporters.

I heard from a very reliable source but definitely not 100% since I wasn't there obviously and neither was my source. I don't believe your story that they were innocent bystanders. I didn't hear that the victim was being inappropriate but I could believe it.

Are you serious? Pulling shorts down? This was standard practice in public school gym class among boys back in the 80s and 90s.
100% soft.
Well why don't you invite these 4 boys over to house for a sleep over and throw your son in with them.

Anonymous wrote:This is not what happened. The boys were never told why the were released from DC United. The main incident was where there was bullying between 1 player and 1 victim. The rest were bystanders, not intervening to help their teammate. All these boys just got mixed up in this problem, some were involved and most were bystanders but as leaders of the team they were expected to stand up for their teammate but failed to do so. Rape has nothing to do with this. If you do not know exactly what happened (Which you probably don't), please do not try and spread the wrong story. Please note, the victim also did get punished for intentionally walking into the bathroom while my friend's son (one of the boys who was kicked off) was in the shower, apparently he saw him naked after he fell out the shower trying to slam the door shut. SO if you are wondering, even the bullying "victim" has done things to teammates that they do not appreciate. I think it was seen as more severe than it really was because these players were bigger than the rest. Or maybe a family threatening to sue DC United if these players were not released.

Once again, point to the police report that would be required by regulation in this situation and this thread can die with everyone having evidence of fact. Right now there’s nothing other than your emotional statements.

I'm not the poster you are responding to, but I'm sincerely interested in your motivation for continuing to promote the idea that the incidents never happened. If you are in the DA community, either as a DCU parent or friend or acquaintance of any DCU kids, parents, or coaches, then you know what has been reported here is true, even if you don't know all the details. If you have no connections to this community and don't know anything about what happened, why in the world are you continuing to weigh in on the topic?

I’m not the OP, but I agree with he or she that given some of the heinous things brought up in thread, the burden is on you (apparently) to produce even a shred of evidence. The things mentioned here have rules and regulations that would require reporting to the authorities. It’s hard enough to keep such a conspiracy to avoid following the rules to a few people, let alone the large numbers needed to keep quiet here. So, the most likely explanation is that the heinous crime reported here isn’t accurate. It could be that a few kids were let go for activities that didn’t rise to the level of criminality, in which case they wouldn’t need to be reported, but that wouldn’t be a big deal as it happens all the time in any setting. Criminal acts are not as common, and cover-ups of said acts even rarer. So, again, this is much ado about nothing, unless you have concrete evidence of the contrary, which you don’t.
Because if it truly existed, this would already be a news story, given human nature. Now let it rest.
That’s ridiculous. Ever heard of the Catholic Church?
