Did you guys know that our government trains Saudis to fly sophisticated fighter jets? Why would we give such training and military know how to a country that murders its citizens? It would be like us training the N. Koreans. I don't get it. Why does the US treat the Saudis so well?

Are you serious? The US can legally take any number of steps in response. The Global Magnitsky Act requires the US government to investigate and if the Saudi government is found complicit, to enact sanctions. It is unbelievable how protective some posters here of the Saudi government.

I'm not at all protective of Saudis - what do I care? I'm simply mocking the hypocrisy inherent in the US pretending that human rights matter.


The investigation is required once it has been requested by Congress, which it has been. The US is hypocritical about lots of things. That’s hardly a revelation or a reason to coddle the Saudis.

Depending on which court you can get to, some US courts would say that khashoggi is guaranteed US constitutional protections, despite not being a us citizen. Absurd, but true.

You can blame the Saud murderers if you choose. Truth is this happened in the Saud Embassy in Turkey, planned by the Sauds and probably aided by Turkey. He went there to get his divorce papers so he could marry his Turkish fiancé. Sucks but that was his choice to go and do so.
