and another club?
No, not particularly. Their options mostly dried up as well. In fact at FCV all you ever hear is "offers have gone out to some kids" but many did not go out until after tryouts elsewhere had passed.
I think the first Spirit MD offers went out in mid-May. Better than other local DAs it would appear.
I don't know how you could live with pay me $500 now (May) then $1850 in July and we will tell you on August 31 if your daughter is playing DA or EDP. Is that really what is going on for U16s in Spirit VA or have the trolls seized control of information flow on this thread?

Serious question. Is the FCV EDP 03 only? How often do EDP players practice with DA players.
FCV's EDP team is mostly the NPL 03 team with the 03's DP's who did not make DA. Those DP's still train exclusively with the DA team. Most of the 04's who did not make DA simply left FCV.

Your response is so generic, it could apply to any criticism posted of any club on this entire forum.
The complaints are legit, and people will continue to come here and post about their clubs. It's why this whole forum exists.
But if you are so bothered, by all means, stop coming here and reading any of it.
Take your own advice and leave the club.

Folks, we can close up the forum now. We don't need to post another thing about anything.
Believe me, if I was the coach and if I knew who you are your Monday nights would now be free of the burden of soccer practice.
Now that actually is funny!!!. Truth hurts

I'm an 04 WS VA parent and don't see any big issues. I'm happy with the way the team is progressing from last year. We all knew about the issue with the age group going combined.
I'm with the people who think that people who don't like the EDP option should leave and should have thought more about it earlier. This is really more an issue to take up with US Soccer, who set the age groups. Who knows, they may change it soon to help in future years.
Overall it's not a good way to judge WS in general, as they are doing lots of things the right way.
You're fine with ~80 kids all crammed onto a field? Ok, if that works for you. I think WS does some things right. It's why I signed up for a second year, but it doesn't mean I'm giving a free pass on the rest. I will give them a little time to even it out, but then they have to do better.
And I see the politics other posters have talked about too, but I think in the end, those folks only expose their own kid to the wrong type of challenge and put them in an environment where they can't excel, so it will work itself out.
Playing up doesn't always lead to playing better; sometimes being in your own age group does.
I seriously doubt that 80 kids are on the field at the same time. That sounds a bit exaggerated.
How many kids could also be playing up to demonstrate this rampant politics that you speak of?
It isn't 80 kids. I'm there every Monday. This is one of the posters who has a bone to pick with either WS or DA in general and is trying to make a point. I think it's been pretty well exposed by multiple WS parents at this point.
When the overlap occurs for a solid 30+ minutes, it's U13 (that's like 15 or so), U14 (about 20), U15 (28), and U17 (25 or so). That's about 80 or so.
U17s do not practice at the same time as the u13-15s. Your numbers are inflated for the first two groups. You spend time hawking this topic to bash anyone who sees it differently than you. It's clear to sane people this is more about your bone than reality.
Here is the practice schedule:
Mondays:
630pm - U13/U14 - LF1
715pm - U15/U17 - LF1
815pm - U19 - LF1
Practices are 1.5 hours. There is 45 minutes of overlap genius.
If your first instinct was to come here and complain about it versus contacting the TD directly and asking "hey coach, why are't the U13/U14's practicing from 5-6:30?", then you really are not as interested in a solution or understanding the problem as you are about wanting to complain and wanting to be right.

One minute it's a lie and a conspiracy being spread by mysterious people with an agenda. Now, it's true and nothing to worry about. Which is it?
Whichever one fits his version of WS's inviolable reputation. Of course....![]()
