OP here:
You're the friend who never gives up, always a shoulder to cry upon, always a sympathetic ear?

Such a mensch.

Am I the bump that finally caught your eye! Such an honor! More of a gossipy b then a mensch but I'll take it! Looking forward to it OP!

But really, I wouldn't do that. I'd tell Friend A he can't bring Newbie B, and see no need to reimburse Newbie B for her sunk costs. When you deceive people and they find out, you can't complain about the out of pocket costs.

I assumed opposite genders than you . . .

OP here:
I kept it gender neutral on purpose. I want honest feedback - this is a very real situation. I don't want gender or sexual orientation to play a role in how people view this situation. It's crappy regardless of the genders involved.

Friend C has seen Friend A and Newbie B engage in PDA. Multiple times. Basically, Friend C has been complicit for months (they feel incredibly guilty) and it's about to suck in the rest of the friend group.

I knew from your post that this isn't a heteronormative couple situation. If it was all guys, no way would a random woman be added to the group, or vice versa. My best guess is that this is a girls trip and . . . girls just wanna have fun.

I hear your pleas. There's lots of juicy details, tears, and drama. It was as nutty as you imagine.

I've been slammed at work, but will write it up when I get some time in the next few days.

DP. I will be checking back solely for your update, as I have the past few days.

No but apparently core friend group is a big m/f mix so cheating friend and AP wouldn't immediately be known for what they are

I'd be a bitch and contact the spouse of Friend A about how sad I was that they couldn't join us on the trip but you're looking forward to meeting A's new friend.

Friend A is an a-hole and putting you all in a terrible situation. Make alternative housing arrangements and disinvite Friend A all together.

I'm sure it's already been asked, but with such a big trip, aren't there sure to be tons of pictures, thus high likelihood of at least one group photo or the "couple" together making their way to social media? Seems so risky.
