Apologies to the poster saying he did it screaming and chastising. I'm interested in the post above telling everyone he has turned players into professional footballers.

There are players on those teams who were NCAA all-Americans, National champions, finalists, and Final Four finalists. More than a few are playing professionally. CW is definitely the dean of local soccer coaches and has great contacts, but I know for sure coaches from elite programs in the ACC, SEC, and Big Ten, such as Florida State, UNC, UVA, Duke, Wake, and Penn State, are taking NM's calls.

I’m sure he did it screaming and chastising the players the whole way. This is a good thing for GFR. Good luck, Bethesda.

Who are the more than a few playing professionally? Serious question, educate us, please. You wouldn't be invading anyone's privacy. They are public figures and you would just be giving us their sporting background.

Everyone is running after NM, CW etc. is your child a good player? If he/she is then they don’t need anyone to call for them. They can reach out themselves. You act like these people will guarantee recruitment for you.

This. He was doing the same with the 2013/14 players at GFR. Took them from teams who couldn’t get more than a couple wins a year into top 3 teams in their age groups. In a season. This group of parents are LIVID about having him replaced with HM.

We don’t know! It is definitely a problem for BSC. Two plans that didn’t work out.

I will hate on BSC all day but objectively speaking they may have just poached two of Unions best coaches and NM is super connected with colleges. With the talent already there and the talent that NM will poach from Union, they could have some special teams POTENTIALLY... though they will find some way to F it up I'm sure

So now NM is credited with College connections rather than CW? I think you need to re-evaluate. Union players are already committed next year knowing that NM was not going to be the coach. It would help bring in talent from MD and GA clubs however. We’ll see.

Has CW even coached an older team in like the last ten years?

CW is still the head POC for recruitment at Union and he works very hard to get the players to college. While he doesn’t do as much with having teams anymore, he still helps with practices and is a big part of Union. NM is a good coach but dabbles in many different parts of soccer and also has his own Futsal Club. Extra points for your child if you are lucky enough to get private training with him.

CW isn’t a big part of anything anymore. People ride his name and a reputation that probably hasn’t held with time. It’s fine as he is getting older, but don’t expect him to be out there doing much.

Is CW a BSC girls coach, nope NEXT! Go to VA threads and banter about All American at the CW network

He was my daughters coach at Union for 3 years. Never heard anything about private, extra training. Playing favorites is subjective - I'd say he plays the best players and plays to win. Sometimes that means your kid might sit on the bench.....
