Also a huge fan and Outfit is one of my favorite songs. I don't think it's sad though--just some somewhat unconventional advice from a father to a son. I think Decoration Day is sad in a very bitter and ominous way.



I agree that it isn’t sad—it just always makes me tear up. In a good way.

If We Were Vampires by Jason Isbell. Just heard it for the first time on the radio - was crying but it is an excellent song.

Same Old Lang Syne by Dan Fogelberg

When my mom died I listened to Like a River (Carly Simon), Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchell), and For Good (from the musical, Wicked) on repeat for a full year. Still make me cry.

There were other songs when I was younger and regularly experiencing romantic heartbreak. These don't mean as much as I've aged.
