I expect they will be beefing it up in the coming years.
Dont' Barcroft families get the option to go to Randolph if they don't want the year round calendar?

But the "feeder preference" meant you had to be in the Abingdon, Oakridge or Hoffman-Boston boundaries to have a shot. Once the pure lottery system takes effect anyone in Barcroft, Randolph, Carlin Springs etc will have just as good a chance as anyone.

This is south Arlington we are talking about and the working group has already stated that ECONOMIC DIVERISTY will be the prevailing factor. Add that to Goldstein and O’Grady forming an alliance with Kanninen. NVD isn’t running the show- thank god. Alcova is staying at Barcroft. They will not be moving those SFH’s away. Accept this now.
I agree that Drew could be poised for a turn around. I would also put money down on some sort of nifty program at Randolph. I expect them to formally beef up IB there. That’s RG’s neighborhood and he’s looking for a turn around there.
There is no working group for boundary decisions. None of what you say is based in reality, just your hopes. The new criteria for boundary decisions which apply to N/S/E/W mean that whatever was promised to Henry families about everyone getting to stay at Fleet will not be possible. The criteria is that ONLY proximity and efficiency matter. And since the school moved, so will the boundaries. Watch.

There's not much AH in the current Drew boundary. And the border areas that might get pulled in don't have high concentrations of AH either. I mean, I get being uncertain and worrying about a "new" school, but I suspect whatever it is will be better than what is was. Fleet is going to have some of the same growing pains. The staff may not be new, but everything else will be.
Most of the affordable rental houses (SFHs, duplexes, and townhomes) for families left in Arlington is in Nauck. There is a dedicated AH building across the street from the school with 94 apartments (the Shelton). And an 84-unit AH garden apartment complex bordering the playground (Fort Henry).
