You are only comparing teams results vs Bethesda!

Let’s compare how the Barcelona team did to the other teams beside Bethesda and how much of a powerhouse those clubs are.

You are helping prove the point if Barcelona lost to or tied a team that Bethesda beat by 21 goals.......yikes!!!!

This can be a reason they don’t take them out of the box and play in leagues and many tournaments. They are all about $$$.

Also teams / kids at older age groups they didn’t develop! They all care to them ready to play!

Many of their 08s were playing for their own travel teams this weekend (not FCB). In the younger years, most of the players were still playing travel with their home Clubs (no conflict because they weren’t in a league this year). I saw many FCB kids in different jerseys this weekend. I’d wait and see as more of them are switching to commit full-time next year and check back in a few years.

But, why are you so hung up on the 9-year old division anyways? Do you realize how creepy that sounds?

Why would kids that are going to commit to them full time next year playing for other teams this year instead of FCB? If I signed my child up for two clubs (which I think is crazy by the way and I would never do) this year, but plan on picking only FCB for the next year, my child would be playing in the last tournament of the year for next for FCB, not the club my child is leaving.

I don’t know why you keep coming here to trash them when you appear to know nothing about the Escola and it’s programs.

You have it quite opposite. Many were committed to their travel Clubs and only doing a day a or two a week training with the Escola. They only played in events with FCB that presented no conflict with their travel commitment. They honored that. So- it makes sense they would play with the travel Club they signed a contract with for the full-year and finish out the season respectfully—not cut and run and leave their travel team short players. It’s the right thing to do.

Pretty sure the 08 comments are about younger age groups a true measure of development since Barcelona and the clubs they played against had them from the beginning of their travel soccer careers.

Because particularly at the early ages you can train with them while remaining on your travel team?

Saw the FCB U11 team this weekend in Cannon cup. They won the bracket fairly easily but it was the lower bracket. For a team that had zero game history (first tournament?) I was impressed. They had possession of the ball 75% of the time and the only scoring chances our team got was when our keeper punted and there was a footrace. FCB keeper never once punted the entire game.

Their 2005 team is in Finals. 29 goals and only 1 conceded since they started competing this spring. All wins. Premier Cup&Potomac. They can’t get into upper brackets until they keep racking up wins because of Gotsoccer and how we freeze our teams from leagues and tournaments.

Several teams won in VA Beach recently. Older boys ‘01/02 very good record. Friendlies against some top teams- held their own.

Like travel it’s a big place and their training is superb.

Do you want us to go Club by Club and start pointing out every team that did poorly? What a weird post.

Scores tell you nothing about the actual game in development.

I’ve seen both their 01 teams play in person. They are incredible. Anyone that says they are “poor” doesn’t know what they’re talking about and their opinion on things related to the sport should not be trusted.

To psycho, nowhere in this thread has anyone even talked in terms of “best in the area”. I only see talk of development and a defense of inaccurate info.

Maybe it’s just you own insecurity reading something that’s not there. Anyways. Goodnight. Nobody cares.

Looked them up in Gotsoccer. They played some pretty decent teams/clubs so only giving up 1 goal in over 10-12 games is impressive for a brand new set of kids.

To the other pp spouting off about the 9 years olds/2008s (and anyone under U12) by game scores, development over the years is what should be watched. I saw some very ugly soccer with power kicks and sprinters pull out wins, that shit doesn’t hold up over time.

But, check back in on these younger teams in about 4-5 years and if they aren’t doing well then, you win. I’m willing to invest in the training. Maybe that’s what you should be coming out to watch if you want to judge quality. It’s the most important.

I agree with this.

08 boys got destroyed against Bethesda and lost and tied some no name clubs out of Maryland.

Isn’t it possible that some methods, perhaps including FCBE, don’t bear fruit until the later ages? I know little about their program but could see the youngest ages losing a fair bit until they mature and the system clicks, after which they could experience more success in terms of wins because they’ve put in the groundwork in terms of development.

The team you reference was in the lowest bracket. Other clubs also do poorly in tournaments also, but you don't see tons of fanboy posts about how they are the best in the area.
