Ok. 157K 100K is 157K today based on the CPI calculatior. The median HHI in vienna is about 120K (average, 132 K). Note the average increase in income since 2000 is 43%.

But, one thing changed since I bought in 1998: interest rates are lower.

Mortgage on my house in 1998 was about 28% of my income. Today, based on the estimated price, the mortgage would about 2800/mo, and you would need about 135K in income to have the same percentage.

Government salaries are not up 100%. U r misinformed. Inflation is not that drastic in the US. 100k in 1998 is not 250k today. The only thing that’s gone up is home value. Most of Vienna is average folks making under 250k.

I have lived in district for 20 years. I paid 250K. But, 18 years ago, 250K required a near UMC income in 1998. Inflation. 100K in 1998 is about 200K today.

Wrong. Most people have lived in that disctrict more than 7 years, so even 18. They paid 200-400. Even so, 500 isn’t much in this area. But you keep thinking that you’re special. Most homes in that district are old, small, outdated. Not everyone lives in a new build.

Most people in Thoreau district paid over $500,000 for their house and you can't even get a house now for that much in the district.

But most paid no where near that, TBH. I mean are you serious? Most folks I know both work-not many SAHMs. It’s just a very normal school with a variety of kids. It’s not Langley. But there are many insecure folks on this board. So, if you SAHM or work less than 20 hours, belong to a country club and actually bought for quite a bit, then I still stand by my point. You are the minority at TMS.
