(can't remember the exact wording), I think that's a valid concern, which is why I am on DC Urban Moms doing my 'homework' about the new school. STILL, I think that the opportunity to be a part of starting a new school is probably worth it. I really do think there will be a lot of competition for teaching jobs there. I do NOT think that there is any kind of automatic 'priority' given to teachers from Westland or CCES or NCES. In fact, it's really up to whatever principal they hire. So for me, I'm eagerly awaiting the appointment of the principal!

HA, I know what you are saying. I guess what I mean is, I wanted to see what the 'community' was thinking about the school. Having used DCUM for other purposes before, I take everything I read here with a (huge) grain of salt. But, it can't hurt to see what the buzz is...

Sorry, that should read how much lower the requests are, not ours.
MCPS restricts what the PTA can fund. So, for example, you can't fundraise to get additional staff as I think you can do in DC.
