I really don't like my MIL as a person. She's very generous with her money, for which I'm grateful, but less so with her time, which I resent since we moved to the area to be closer to the grandparents (for both selfish help, and also for them to have a stronger relationship with the kids). She consistently undermines my values as a parent (I don't believe in sneaking and she sneaks treats to my kid who has awful blood sugar regulation issues) and perhaps worse than being malicious, she's just clueless about it. When my husband and I have tried to work with her and explain things, she'll 'get it' for a few weeks, and then forget and slip into her old ways. I just try to ignore her as much as possible instead of being the sorority sister who hands over my neatly washed and pressed kids when she's between card games and social obligations on her own schedule like she would prefer.

Delicious. How about canned baked beans with sliced hot dogs? Beanie weinie is vastly underrated.
