I have two friends in the pet industry. They work with pet stores, groomers, and go to dog and cat shows. Their ideal (and most common) customer is a single, never-married woman 30's and older. They have advanced in their career so they have money to spend, and they spend a lot of it on their pets.

I know every time I've tagged along with him to a groomer's salon, every client in there (the owner, not the dog) was female.

So the whole "cat lady" thing does seem accurate, based on the industry information and what I've observed.

If we saw more women who haven’t had work done into their 39s & 40s we would have a more broad idea of what is attractive.

Are you claiming most older women walking around have "had work done"? I don't think so. Half of them are fat like a lot of people in this country though. That's unattractive. American women here dress less stylishly than women over in Europe. That's unattractive.

Fair of not, men are prized for their ability to provide and women for their looks.

However, I think men have a peak too, somewhere in mid-late 30s. That was when I still got attention from the 20-something crowd and had enough professional and financial success to attract anyone. Now I am mid-40s and I wouldn't say invisible but certainly a lot less attention than before. For women, it's probably mid-20s.

Women lose their capabilities at age 30 and need to rush or else they start sliding in appeal

Because of what the media sells us. If we saw more women who haven’t had work done into their 39s & 40s we would have a more broad idea of what is attractive. Read all the interviews of actresses who have to play someone middle aged in their 30s.

This has been rehashed in other threads in the beauty forum: people of color usually age better than Caucasians. General thought is because there is more melanin, less sun damage, and more moisturizing that is done since darker complexions see dryness in their skin and use lotion to hydrate before they feel it getting tight and dry. Helps ward off wrinkles and eye bags. African, Asian, Hispanic, and Indian men and women have some of the most supple beautiful skin in old age.

As women approach menopause, bone recedes and this shows up on their skin as eye bags or a witchy chin for example. Even a millimeter makes a difference. Men's bone density does not recede at the same rate as women's. So yes, their facial structure does not look as different until maybe their 70s (think Richard Gere- dang!).

You think men don't get eye bags? Have you seen James Comey? Man, the MRAs are really scraping the bottom of the barrel arguing that they have better eye bags than women.

You can argue bone density all you want, but still doesn't change the fact that overall, men generally have more damage to their skin than women of the same age.

That's a lot of people, dogs or cats. I feel it's important to have a pet especially when you have young kids. Teaches them to care for something. I've also observed people that don't like pets often have issues. Or lack empathy.

Appearance wise men and women age exactly the same. Sun, drugs, drinking and smoking are BIG factors in the ageing process.

A man in his 50s with money and six pack probably worked hard for it and is more likely to keep it.

Doesn't matter. We are talking solely about physical appearance. All other things being equal- money, abs, work ethic- a man in his 20s is more attractive than a man in his 50s.
