Because it is one few the few sports that kids around here can get recruited for really good schools that they otherwise could not get into.

I recognize the arguments of one of these posters from the laxpower.com website. It's a guy who likes to criticize and criticize the local scene incessantly. Don't think he has any ties to a local school, including Gonzaga. Ignore him.

I have a 7th grader and we may have him apply to a few schools next year. He does play lacrosse and soccer, and likes it. I'm not so sure he's cut out for how competitive this is, and as a parent when I scroll something like this to look into lacrosse at the IAC schools it is pretty sickening.

Who are the crazier ones, the Gonzaga parents who post something another group disagrees with or the Landon parents who attack it moments later? Anyone taking everyone else's kids school sports seriously is a nut. Anyone who is armed and ready to attack that nut for taking it all to seriously in a post two minutes later is a loser. Hey Landon parent, that lawn won't mow itself before the kids are up and need to be taken to their Saturday events. Hey Gonzaga parent, you're even better at this than Ty Xanders but maybe you could slow your roll too.

Good luck to all the programs this spring. Kill or be killed, and don't get any blood on the SUVs.

+1
Anybody who has come across Rob Bordley knows he doesn't back down from a challenge.

Landon Parent here.

Why are you always angry when you post?

Landon was the best team in the state last year - period. No miracle wins. Luck always happens to be on the better teams side. They went 20-2 last spring for a reason.

Was told PVi canceled the game against Landon due to a scheduling conflict - with their league. So please stop spreading false rumors. Trust me, Landon is not afraid of PVI, a team I don't think they have never lost too. A team that also lost to a GP by several goals this spring, given it was early in the season.

Every time you post you have nothing positive to write about. You are extremely negative and critical of programs you know very little about. Whoever you are (most likely some delusional Gonzaga parent) just remember you are hiding behind a keyboard.

Who in your opinion is doing things well? And why?

We get it, the IAC is just an average lacrosse conference in your eyes.

Wow dude. You really follow this stuff way to closely. Who do you think is actually doing things right?

Prep looked pretty average today. Not sure if it's a lack of talent or coaching.

I would. Landon started going backwards last year, and what saved them was 1. A much weaker schedule...they duck out of playing the best OOC teams. 2. They benefitted from the start of Prep's downward trend that started to show up last year and is in full bloom now, 3. They had one miracle win against Gonzaga and live off that through the local hype machine. This is a program that can beat two MIAA bottom feeders (Gilman & STM) and was outclassed by the #4 or #5 MIAA team (Loyola). This is a program that won't play at home the top Philly main line preps, the Canadians or other top out-of-state teams coming through. Instead they load up on the next tier ones and play competitive games against the likes of Calverton now. They dropped playing PVI, and if anyone has the memo listing reasons why PVI is a juggernaut, post it here. PVI is Robinson high school with a better lacrosse P.R. department.

What's next, Landon's schedule is too bunched up to keep playing Gonzaga?

They're pretty good now. People tease some, but they are pretty good. Apparently their coach is leaving at the end of the day.
GPrep - jeez. That wasn't even a competitive game today. They lost badly to Hun and skated past Heights. That program went straight to shambles from 2 years ago. Like the WCAC with Gonzaga every year, this year the IAC only has one top level team in Bullis. And I'm not the crazy Zaga dad writing this.

Prep has lost 3 of the last 4. Their sole win was by 1 goal over St Joes (Phila), hardly a lacrosse power. Immediately prior to this they beat Heights by 3, a school they routinely beat by 10 or 11 in previous years.

What ever could have happen two years ago to cause this collapse?

I know in the past, Woodberry Forest has expressed an interest in the IAC and the current Potomac Headmaster has openly said he would like to bring Potomac over to the IAC.

Throughout the years, a consistent rumor has been that there would be a Northern Virginia private school league that included SSSA and Episcopal and schools like Potomac and Flint Hill and even Catholic schools like Ireton and O'Connell.

The driver of this would be the difficulties associated with after-school weekday traffic going back and forth over the Potomac The all Virginia league would be so much easier logistically for teams, fans and parents. This might also be an easier league in which to compete.

That would leave STA and the three Montgomery County IAC teams scrambling for a home. Prep might look at some reformulation of the Catholic League. Members of this league have for many years been looking for a way to get out from under De Matha's dominance.

Gonzaga 11

Prep 6

The game was a total blowout.

IAC is once again over hyped
