Just watched Dear Zachary based on recommendations on this thread . . . gut wrenching!!! Ugh, so sad.
Jesus Camp is good too, but scary. Seriously creepy, and I'm a Christian.

How to Survive a Plague. I actually stood up out of my chair and cheered at one point. If you've seen it, you'll know which part

One Day in September is still one of my favorites, don't think it is on Netflix though!

My top 3 are:
Hoop Dreams - My favorite doc ever. Such amazing moments captured on film. William's older brother's life story from star player to injured security guard. Arthur seeing his absentee dad buy drugs while he's hooping with his friends. Arthur's mom graduating from her nursing class always brings tears to my eyes given all that she's dealt with.
Queen of Versailles- Fascinating look at a time share baron and his trophy wife. What makes this movie for me is that even though you cringe at the wife's gaudy and expensive tastes, she's not demonized and in fact, you start to root for her as she deals optimistically with the loss in fortune.
King of Kong- Karate Kid with video game nerds. Hilarious.

Has anybody mentioned Young at Heart? The one about the choir in the nursing home.

Herb and Dorothy - very sweet film about two govt employees who were NY art collectors. That discription doesn't do it justice - just see the movie.
Agree with Crash Reel, spellbound and Harlan County. Shut Up and Sing is also great (about the Dixie Chicks)
