Antique Diamond eternity band only. About 3k. One of my better choices, I think. It's not trendy, passes under the radar without being overly plain.

Holy crap, 7 carat girl. That thing must weigh you down on one side!

because a big diamond or a big wedding cannot possibly be meaningful right?

We actually bought a 6k one first... but it was big and awkward and I didn't like wearing it, so sent it back, donated some of the money to HRC, bought a simple ring. Never regretted it.

I think it's a silly thing to spend money on but not nearly as bad as what people spend on weddings. At least you can pawn a ring if need be

Ha, I'm the 7 carat girl, my wedding was cheaper but not by much.

My ring is still sentimental, just like my great grandmother's veil and my grandmother's cake topper that I used and am saving for my daughters.

Didn't mean to imply expensive rings can't be sentimental... obviously, engagement/wedding rings have a lot of sentimental value because they (hopefully) represent one of the happiest periods in your life. For us, just made more sense to be sentimental about something that didn't cost much.

I didn't buy it, so...

Yeah, I was just wondering this. How do so many of you know how much it cost? I have no clue!

You didn't see the receipt when you took it in for an independent appraisal? Mmmmm-kay.

You took your loved one's present for an appraisal? Mmmmm-kay.

I guess yours isn't insured. That's ok if you want to take that risk but DH and I wanted to make sure it was protected.

Also, some couples discuss finances and make decisions about big purchases together.

.75 carat Old mine cut that belonged to DH's great grandmother. He spent $3200 on a new setting, I love it.
