Exactly. There was never any doubt she was going to answer and listen to the story he cooked up. Hopefully she won't believe any of it and this will be the end of it though.

If I were her I would have answered too. Logically we all know including the op that it is not a good idea and she needs to cut ties... But temptation to hear is excuses would be hard for anyone
