I live 7/10ths of a mile from my door to Deal's door, in approx the 5300 block of 39th St Nw. When the leaves are off the trees, can see Deal's roof and cupola from my yard.
It takes me 4 minutes "door to door"'to get to Deal on a school morning in a car.
I am DYING to know how Mr $>300k gets there in 3 more minutes from across rock creek park. In a helicopter? Hovercraft?

It is not the upper NW people who have created the us vs them dynamic. We send our kids to the neighbohood publics and gladly accept OOB when we can. There are zero charter option for us in Ward 3. It's all the center city folks who refuse to send their kids to publics and instead go charters. Sure they will tell you it's because little Johnny really wants to learn mandarin, but we know the real reason.

I really hope all you upper north west people continue your campaign to create an us and them dynamic using the park as a dividing line. This continual mantra will only serve to push DCPS to a new system where boundaries are erased entirely because the existing boundaries are simply becoming too toxic to remain in place.

Unfortunately, I think you're not reading (or comprehending) all the posts on this thread. There have been plenty of posts that refer to my boy as unprepared. When you make blanket statements like those that have been made, there is no other conclusion you can come to.

If they do get rid of boundaries how are all the children getting to school? There us no busing. This effects the children in ward 8 too especially if they are sent to Mann or Key which are not metro accesable. And who is going to make the eofp remain top without all those parents who will no longer be invested in their neighborhood schools. There are not enough.high ses parents for all the schools. And if the boundaries are erased there is no gauarantee your child would go to a better school then your current neighborhood school whether you be in a wofp or eotp school. Getting rid of boundaries wont fix the situation.

Please! My kid gets to Deal in 7 minutes door to door but because his skin is brown and his zip code is 20012, he's considered "unprepared" on these these threads. Forget that his parents earn >$300k and he has scored advanced on every subject since he started tested.

Well, you make more that we do, PP, and we're not "struggling" to live in out WOTP neighborhood zone for good schools. Why don't you move IB?
NP. 20012 IS INBOUNDS! You are an idiot.
