42 eggs
38 fertilized
28 made it to day 3
transferred 1 embryo, BFP
1 beautiful child
wowza!!!! did you freeze the other embryos? what's going to happen to them if you don't use all?
We used two of our frozen embies to conceive child #2. We still have 20 embryos left. When we went into this, given my age we thought we'd be lucky if we got one viable embryo. We made a commitment to give each embryo a chance at life. We never thought we'd be faced with trying to give a chance to 28 embryos!
We've kept them in storage for a number of years. Now another family member is facing infertility so they will use some (or all, if need be) of the remaining embryos to try to conceive. If there are any remaining after that, we will probably donate them to someone else facing infertility.

1st IVF cycle with Lupron, low dose hcg, follistim, and novarel trigger
7 eggs retrieved
5 were mature
4 fertilized normally
Dr. recommended 3 day transfer instead of PGD at 5 day as planned
our clinic uses a 0-8 grading scale:
we had one grade 7, two grade 6, and one grade 5 - they said all were 7 cell
they indicated the 7 & 6s were good and the 5 fair
Dr. said 8 is the highest grade and they see very few of those (wondering if he means for my age?)
embryologist said it was good that a couple of them were already compacting but she also mentioned she has seen grade 8s that don't take and grade 0s that did
both Drs. involved that day recommended transferring all 4, we were a little nervous about doing that but both of them as well as both nurses and the embryologist indicated they have not had a case where someone my age that did transfer all 4 had all of them take
so now we're in the dreaded 2WW and hoping this turns out well
Would you mind sharing which clinic you were cycling at? My RE was dead set against a day 3 transfer, because the clinic doesn't do them much (SGF) and also only transfered 2 out of 4 that fertilized normally on Day 5. They were all 8 cell on day 3. The other two didn't make it to freezing. In 2ww now and considering switching clinics.

I'm not the PP quoted, but I also did a 3d transfer this most recent cycle. I see Dr. Frankfurter at GW.
