I have a husband who makes great money. I also have a good career of my own and am home each day by 430. I'll take that option.

Did thr SAH thing. I needed a bit more.

My dh is at a point that he is making more than enough to compensate my income, and told me if I wanted to quit my job, he would be fine with that. The thing is...I have been working for 20 years and am at a point in my career where I am really happy. I love what I do, my colleagues respect me, and I have made some great friends along the way. If I just stopped, I don't even know what I would do. My kids are in school, so it's not like I have to be there for them during the day. I am already there for them in the evening. I do have hobbies, but they require other people, and most of my friends work too, so I would basically be sitting at home or running errands (which I already do). I realize that it sounds fun, but I think it would get old fast...at least for me.

OMG. We clearly run in different circles. Perhaps it's you who's "very young or a fool"? Only the foolish presume to know how the relationships of others work. Worry about your own life. Spouting off about the good fortune of others only makes your jealousy more apparent.

What I find naive are the people who project their own insecurities onto other people's marriages. Sorry there's a power imbalance in your marriage. Maybe that's something you and your husband need to work on?
