An easy and cheap product I found to cover the area of your jeans to stop the holes is a clip and their website is licketyklip.com. I fortunately no longer have to worry about getting holes as long as I remember to wear my clip. lol
It's the buttons or snaps? I don't think so. I've been wearing jeans for 40 years and never had a problem until a year or two ago. It's the cheap, crappy fabric used in even expensive T-shirts. None of my old T shirts have holes - irrespective of price. All of my new T shirts do have holes. I'm wearing the same jeans, leaning up against the same counters so the variable is the fabric. Back in the day cotton T shirts wore like iron and kept their shape and color. Honesty I would be willing to pay a premium to have a shirt made of premium fabric. I have neither the time nor the money to spend on the shoddy monstrosities that pass as women's shirts these days.
