Thank you very much. I really appreciate it. Does FCPS (I am new) like fsiq or GAI? I am not sure about your child, but
I am very concerned that the wmi will throw out a a very otherwise high, 99% WISC IV....I have read these threads and couldn't find anyone who got in with a 150 vci and 110 wmi (136 fsiq)....just don't want to make a mistake by submitting....

Not sure why the one PP is so ticked. Please post and ask questions, most of us are happy to offer any insight and often ask for some, as well. Generally speaking your DC needs to meet the number score, 132 and above is good, and have an pretty high GBRS. The GBRS, is a subjective score given by the 2nd grade teachers. Basically you want to tell your kid to always do more than asked. Ie, teacher says write a 1 page story about your weekend, a high GBRS kid would write 3 pages. Teacher says show your work for math, high GBRS kid shows 2 or 3 ways to solve the problem. If you go to fcps and search GBRS, you can see the scoring rubric. I have done such and remind my kids to always do more then asked, it is a pretty good habit in life to have, always do more.

For 2012-2013:

My child had a 136 fsiq on the WISC IV. 148 vci but a 110 wmi....he is AAP material but that wmi score seems low...will he get in with this score?

It could be that I am too dumb to figure out if the CoGat= IQ!

They arrive seperately. First gbrs is done for in pool kids then those are sent off. Referrals aren't know until 2/4, so then committee must meet for gbrs on those kids. Then those files are sent off . Think that's why there are 2 dated

But its obvious from the scores if the file was automatically in-pool or not.

I always wondered if there was any indication which files were in-pool and which were parent referrals or if they were just in one big pile. From that timeline it looks like they arrive seperately.

I found this document from last year on an old thread...

http://www.boarddocs.com/vsba/fairfax/Board.nsf/files/88XK6Z4FF4DA/$file/N2401-2010.pdf

It shows that last year, in-pool screening files were due to the AAP office on 2/16 and referral screening files were due to the AAP office on 3/2.

I can only find vague mentions of the committee meeting in March/April

Local screening committees are meeting this week and next week and will submit the files to the central screening committee after that.
