Whoa, I've actually read both versions of the by-laws (and authored neither), and the "nut-job" version is clearly superior as to both style and substance.

Please stop calling this man a nut job. In the three years since my child has attended this school, this man has been very active in the betterment of the school. He does not drop and roll like many of the parents. He gives of his time, whether you like him not, he is far from a nut job.

The "undoing" of this PA is the best thing that could happen to Yu Ying. As for the administration being unable to work with him--too bad. It's public school. Deal with it or leave. Wait, now that would be the best thing to happen to this school.

New YY parent-- I have never met the "nut job" but I like his suggestions. Honestly, the whole idea of making people pay to vote is fraught with problems, it makes me question the judgment of those who suggested it. "Nut job" might not be a bad alternative.

Because for many "pay to vote" with a high $ amount, poll tax, is unacceptable and personally, I'll not support an organization, especially a public school PA, that has such a policy.

If he gets elected it will undo the PA, and that is not intended to be hyperbole. The school admin can't work with him. Unlike what the PP said, it isn't that he isn't a "yes man". His rigid thinking would put the whole organization at a stand still. I hope people realize that his 11th hour ploys are just a way to rail road his own personal agenda. It might all look fabulous to present these changes, but you need to question why would someone suddenly go against the bylaws that have been in the works for 12 MONTHS?

Yes-man. LOL! My DH and I call it the hallelujah chorus. Whatever the PA president and committee brings up, the chorus can be counted on to add nothing other than what a great job they've done.

Maybe he should be elected. The small PA committee could certainly need someone with his crafts and skills. They are not much of a writer or an editor, for that matter. They might be good at doing many other things. And this is one area of expertise that's missing in the group. Parents should have a represenative in the committee who is not a yes-man.

Is linking the $100 supply fee to voting their attempt to collect more fees from parents who can afford it? Why were parents who could afford to pay not paying when the fee had nothing to do with voting?
