We just bought our 'big boy' mattress form Natura and it is super comfy and I trust the company completely. We went all natural to help with cost..no flame retardants, only wool. Check them out. And yes, I obsessed over this with zero regrets!

I contacted Babybjorn and they told me the travel light crib mattress is 100% POLYURETHANE foam. NOT good.

I understand that we don't want to create a paranoid environment, but there is a reason to be worried about these flame retardants. We recently discovered that my 4-month old son is allergic to the flame retardants in his car seat - he developed an incredibly infected set of rashes on his arms, legs, and head, and after 5 doctor's visits we finally figured out what was going on. Some kids with sensitive skin have a reaction to these flame retardants. We were able to get a new seat and organic cover (for free) from the company. Companies can easily put natural flame retardants in their products, but it's expensive.

For me, it's about being an informed consumer and having a clear understanding of what we are putting in, on, and around our children.

Oh last thing! I know a lot of moms have talked about hand me downs on here! While they are better for OFFGASSING because they have mostly offgassed if they are years old, they are WORSE for flame retardants. FR tend to get released more as the foams break down and create a dust!
